Integrated IBC Discharge and Dosing Station: High-Precision Dosing, Discharging, and Automated Washing

Handling and discharging Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) often causes bottlenecks in production lines. Plants frequently deal with accidental spills and inaccurate manual batching. In addition, washing containers for reuse or disposal takes valuable time.

Therefore, we developed a closed-loop system for the entire container lifecycle. Our solution handles everything from automated recipe dosing to post-discharge washdown.

The accompanying video shows our IBC Discharge and Dosing Station in action:

  • Gravimetric Batch Dosing by the Kilogram: The integrated load-cell system enables operators to set a precise target weight in kg. As a result, the unit automatically transfers the exact required quantity directly from the IBC. This process effectively eliminates raw material waste and operator error.

  • Optimized Residue-Free Discharge: When completely evacuating a container, the automated tilting deck guides the material toward the outlet valve. Consequently, it significantly reduces viscous or dry product build-up at the bottom.

  • Operator Safety and Environmental Containment: Sealed docking interfaces protect operators from direct contact with hazardous media. Furthermore, the unit safely contains fugitive dust and chemical vapors.

  • Downstream Integration with the LC Washing Unit: Once the discharge cycle finishes, the IBC moves directly into the LC tank washing station. This automated wash cycle thoroughly strips away internal residues. Thus, the container becomes immediately ready for reuse or compliant disposal.

  • Repeatable Process Efficiency: Unifying dosing, bulk discharge, and container cleaning into one structured procedure maximizes uptime. In addition, it maintains strict plant hygiene standards.

This modular setup meets the rigorous safety requirements of the chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries.
